Electric vehicle buyers to get special incentives in Haryana

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, on Tuesday, said the state government will give special incentives to the buyers of electric and hybrid electric-vehicles in the state so that the upfront cost of their vehicles can be reduced.
Chautala said, “Haryana Electric Vehicle Policy-2022” has also been notified, now people can take advantage of this policy. The deputy chief minister, who also holds the portfolio of industries and commerce department, said the objective of “Haryana Electric Vehicle Policy-2022” is to promote manufacturing of electric vehicles and components in the state, promote research and development in the field of electric vehicles sector.
He said some of the key benefits for EV manufacturers are capital subsidy, employment generation subsidy, patent fee reimbursement, electricity duty exemption, stamp duty reimbursement, seed and conversion fund incentive, SGST reimbursement, and water treatment incentive.
He said the policy also focuses on developing infrastructure across the state to reduce the range anxiety of buyers and provide a conducive infrastructure to boost e-mobility. The minister said a lot of benefits are being provided in this policy for the infrastructure providers of charging/swapping stations for electric vehicles.
Chautala said the state government has also launched an online portal on 17 November 2022, to implement the incentive amount under “Haryana Electric Vehicle Policy-2022”. Both investors and buyers of electric vehicles, strong hybrid electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles have been urged to avail benefits under this policy.
Chautala said electric vehicle units that were established after the policy’s announcement but before the launch of the online scheme portal may submit an application within 45 days of the online web portal’s launch. The individual EV owners who have registered their vehicle in Haryana after the launch of policy and before the launch of the online incentive portal may also apply within 45 days from the launch of the online portal to avail the benefits, he added.
